The Lair, the vampire driven spin-off of Dante’s Cove, is currently airing its second season on here!. Coming on the heels of the huge success of HBO’s new vampire drama, True Blood, and its renewal for a second season, here! must be pleased enough with The Lair’s performance to have given the go ahead for a third season with a full order of 13 episodes. This will bring The Lair in line with the general average 13-episode order most cable networks place for their shows.
Unfortunately for die hard Dante’s Cove fans, here! remains tight lipped about details for season four which was shot this summer and tentatively set to air in early 2009. The rumor is that it too will be expanded to eight episodes. Maybe season five of Dante’s will be bumped to 13 as well? Let here! know you want more Dante’s Cove!
THE LAIR BITES INTO A THIRD SEASON
Popular supernatural soap opera gets the green light
LOS ANGELES, CA – September 23rd, 2008 – here!, America’s premium gay television network is pleased to announce a third season of the hit original series The Lair. Written and directed by Fred Olen Ray, the third season of The Lair will consist of 13 half-hour episodes and begin production in November with an expected air date of spring, 2009.
Following on the heels of Dante’s Cove, The Donald Strachey Mysteries and Lesbian Sex and Sexuality, the network has created another successful franchise with The Lair. “We are thrilled with our audience’s enthusiasm for this series and our ability to expand the season to 13 episodes,” said Meredith Kadlec, Senior Vice President, Original Programming.
Among those reprising their roles on the sexy vampire series will be gay icon Colton Ford, David Moretti, Peter Stickles, Dylan Vox, Brian Nolan and Frankie Valenti (aka Johnny Hazzard).
Season two of The Lair debuted on September 5th and will be premiering new episodes through December. This season, things in this small town take a big turn when warring vampire factions fight to seize control of the coven. We are introduced to Dr. Jake Waldman (newcomer Matthew King), a botanist with a mysterious plant that seems to have a mind of its own and Ian (Matty Ferraro), a wandering lost soul with a dark secret and a beast that lurks within: a werewolf! Meanwhile, Thom (Moretti) has found himself waist-deep in a centuries-old romantic entanglement with Damian (Stickles) and Colin (Vox) has succeeded in his plan to take control of The Lair.
Season three of The Lair promises to bring back the majority of these hunky actors and engage us in fang-filled plot twists and supernatural sexuality.
